Someone must stop him, we have a huge job to create sprites without asking for payment, then some sucker wants to make money at the expense of our sweat

Don't let this sorta thing get to you. Remember this is a hobby and our activity has nothing to do with money. Besides this guy is in bigger trouble!  


 He has some company owned sprites from Capcom in there, if he even makes a dollar off of that he is at risk of going to prison.

personally I feel sorry for the guy and I hope no one sends Capcom a link because they could seriously ruin that guy's life.

There's also many other company owned sprites and even 3D models being sold there. For his own sake I hope he lives in a place where copyright laws don't apply.

I hope they go easy on him.

I would advise against that. mugen shouldn't get involved with money problems, we're using copyrighted material as it is. Let the company themselves deal with this issue.

But we know that all gaming companies with super heroes, both Capcom, DC Comics and Marvel, are banning the use of their creations and characters for sale and also for illegal use. Last week, a boy aged 22 was arrested at his own residence for illegally using the image of characters from the Mortal Kombat games for Mugen, this happened in Italy and soon in the United States as well. We must be careful with the use of characters for Mugen, just as we should avoid trying to make money from it.
Mugen is over, we will get very upset and saddened by this.

That could be the best solution, let him know to he could go to prison for selling copyrighted material from Capcom. Maybe he'll come to his senses and change his mind.

@Ax, we do not break any copyright law due to its been classified as fan art due to we're not trying to make money.

what i'm more worried about is that kind of thing being a basis for gaming companies to declassify mugen works as fan art and thus ruin mugen as a whole.

i'll be filling out a letter under abuse, and think that the best option if any of you want to follow suit. the dmca contact may be more about gaming companies, but it a more complicated form to fill out. my letter will be about he made none of the sprites he is selling and how his actions actually could be detrimental to a worldwide hobby as a whole.

I never made that statement, you misread my post.  

He doesn't just have edited work from mugen fanart creators, he has some straight from MvC sprites and MSH sprites as well as a 3D model rip from Soul Calibur and a bunch of other stuff to.

This is the copyright violation. Not the mugen stuff, the sprite rips from video game companies.

I don't like how this issue is making us act. This guy simply needs to take the responsible way out, and shutdown what he's doing before this becomes anymore problematic for us all. D:

@Ax, i didnt misread anything, i referred to your final line about us using copyright material, which we do not violate due to it all for free and thus classified as fan art.

and i could care less if the guy go to jail or not, though he probably wont given he is in kuwait.

my concern is his actions and those types of actions by others leading to gaming companies declassifying mugen as fan art, and thus then there would be copyright trouble for us all. wouldnt be the first time the actions of few (in this example, people like that guy who use mugen works to make money) have repercussions on a much larger population (in this case, the entire mugen community). that is why i advocate people using the contact webhost info i provided above. he can't do anything if his website taken offline.

Many people still do not know, but the Federal Court of the United States, ordered the closure of the storage of data and files Hotfile site. Because many people wrongly used the site. Thus causing many people to lose the opportunity to store and download stuff from that site. One reason was that bad intentioned people were using the site to sell files.

Guys, let's be more careful with what we do with the Mugen, but our dream Mugen Free For All will end and we can do nothing about it.
