That lizard you guys mentioning was Lethal Syndicate lizard And I guess since that project not coming out, this lizard also tied together with it
In terms of what I did do with sprites, there were previous steps, but judging from Jspiderman anim he covered them all already
I just wrote the ones which are left for this anim to be complete

Yeah that animation isn't done yet, as BigPimp says it's missing the torn robe parts and the sharp nails. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] At the time, I also only persecuted using Ghost kick as the only base, but the combination of bases seems to me to be a better idea now, so I will continue with these bases because that way there are more possibilities for unique movements.

continue with the bases. It's more original and better than LS version in my opinion.
For walking, the upper body must also be animated to make it more fluid.

While I agree in general about keeping the char different from the LS version, I do think that Lizard has a pair of moves worth looking at, especifically, his bites.
Just look at 0:57 and 1:01. Not many characters in fighting games make good use of bites for attacks, so maybe this version could take notes from that and add something similar.
Regardless, I'm liking what I'm seeing so far. Wishing jspiderman the best with this guys.

Yeah, it's not in my plans to leave these bases, I really feel that they have a future, regarding the bites, I hope to be able to implement them somehow, a throw sounds good in my head at the moment, but time will decide.

I think the anim could benefit if tail switched to the right side, implying it is flowing over the leg

I thought about that, but when I tried it it looked weird, maybe I can try it again to see if it improves (it took me a bit to give that snakey movement to the tail but in the end I managed it)

Not sure how it will look during movement, but it definitely has more of that 'backward movement' feel to it this way on this single frame imo

I love the sprites, the quality and the fluidity, but one thing that irks me a little is that it does not look like Lizard is looking at his opponent, but to the side of his opponent.
