11 Chibi Characters (6 new + 5 updates) (Mythos Wave 2)

Wave 2 of the Mythos project! This brings the current Mythos roster up to 10 characters in total!

Added mechanics:
-Air Recovery (c when falling)
-Guard Break/Combo extensions
-Crash cancel

Tweaked animations, balanced damage output, removed infinites, corrected hitboxes, fixed glitches, added new attacks, modified existing attacks, etc.

New characters:

I tried Mario a while ago, and he was very fun to play as. Did this update make it so that he can only fight other Mythos characters, or should I keep the older version to use in my normal Mugen? He doesn't seem to cause glitches.

Mario is one of the characters who don't use the custom hit animations or manipulate any variables, so he should be fine with other characters. The only big issue would be with his Guard Break, since that would pull up the animation "5000 + (value of their first variable)", which is used to display transformed hurt animations.

The characters who completely rely on them (outside of Guard Breaks) are Goku, Luigi, and Zero, since they all use custom states for their supers.

So just avoid the Guard Break, and you should be fine!


It should be noted that the old one is vastly inferior, so you can keep it if you want but there will be a few features that you'll be missing out on.

Actually, I'll be posting characters individually now, since my free time is about to completely disappear. Fortunately I can still develop one character must faster than I'd be able to develop five, so you can expect a much quicker feed. ^u^

Thanks for trying these characters out, everyone! I'm hoping that I can eventually get a screenpack made for all of these characters once the number gets high enough. ^o^

Darn, I wanted to try Luigi. Thanks for the clarification, though. But, what exactly would happen if I were to still try Luigi or accidentally use a Guard Break with Mario on a typical Mugen character?

Well, as long as the opposing character didn't change the value of their first variable beyond 1, they would display their normal hurt animation. If they did, they would display whatever animation was assigned the value of 5000+(the value of variable 1), with 5000 being the standard hurt animation value. The Guard Break itself would work fine, but the enemy's animation might look strange (and if the animation they used didn't have hitboxes, you wouldn't be able to hit them until the stun wears off).

In the future, I'll be taking requests or even doing some quick conversions (so that other characters can be compatible as well). When Mythos is done, I'll be aiming for around 60 characters or so -- think of these releases as early releases of an upcoming full game. ^u^

Alright, I tried Luigi, and he was awesome. Very different from every other one I've seen, animation and sound wise, and love how it's not just his Brawl voice, too. He didn't cause that many issues for me, just a very slight glitch on Poltergust hyper. Can't wait to see who the other 50 characters are going to be.
