King Shark Base Idea

Well as I mentioned we need to start a fresh new one, so first I need ideas what base we should be using.

@kimczi saw this King Shark from deviant art, it's from ramzaneko and is base from nicotinefist and I think this would be a perfect start for us make a king shark..


So any ideas of a similar body bases?

Well, since this King Shark is comparably rounder than the original version with Tizoc as a base, you might wanna check these guys:

I continue to think that killer Croc by gartanham (abobo base) Is a good starting point for king Shark

But also abomination or monk by martial masters are great bases

Even though Baron Zemo seems to be the chosen one in the poll, I think a solid main base for King Shark could be some incarnation of Earthquake (Samurai Shodown).

Cool fat bases, ehonda and kang seems too smal, though raiden and chang seems the right body type

Hmm I think I'll use the head as an inspiration but I might need to create a whole new head copying the sprite that I posted

King Shark and Zemo won the poll on the last 3rd day but I will prioritize Zemo because he won the first 2 days
This topic is just for everyone to suggest and so far so good

i'll always like the abomination base, but monk could be cool depending on how hard to remove some clothing

Well, I guess that before searching for a base, we should ask ourselves "which version of the character are we doing ?"
The movie, chubbier one, like the one from from ramzaneko ?
Or a more comic acurate, muscular, one, like all the versions he's represented like ?

And for the muscular version, should we do a shirtless version or a shirt version ? (even if a smart palette can easily answer that)

We should put this to vote first.
And take into account that the Suicide Squad game will be released soon, using the muscular version.

For my part, Shining asked me some times ago to maybe work on a King Shark, and despite the fact that our talk went nowhere, I still thought about this at the time and came with a conclusion and an attempt for a more muscular version:

I used Monk, from Martial Masters, and it's an easy base to use for everyone, especially if this is supposed to be a group project. The only annoying part was cleaning the clothing, but that's not too complicated.
Just note that the head is awful because I didn't find a good base

So I resume: we should decide between chubby or muscular

In my opinion it s Better to take in consideration also the easiest way to get the best result

I think the earthquake version Is very hard to make but you are very good spriters

I like both of them...i can t wait

No, I didn't, I found the head on deviantart from someone named strovecos who did the Battle Sharks.

I don't really like it, I find it silly looking, and it's too short on sprites to make a full character, but at the time I didn't find anything better.
Maybe Shining's idea using TMNT might work !

And using Monk is very easy btw, it's just cleaning clothes, changing colors and adding the head. The proportions are already good for the character, so no work on this.

Btw, now thanks to Shining we know what ramzaneko used for his King Shark: he used Rocksteady from the same game !

Anyway i have few ideas for specials and hypers

monk is the best sprite

i just had a thought...

i dont know his name, but there is some big dino/lizard/whatever creature wearing shorts that might work with a headswap and be totally unique.

i think the name starts with an R? ryoga or something in that vein.
