Sound problem?  You put a PlaySnd MUGEN state controller in some where like the common MUGEN in-game intro states 190~194 right? 

If so, then you can do this for a fix:
1) give your Statedef 190~194 PlaySnd MUGEN state controller a specific channel, like channel = 19 (just make sure no other PlaySnd MUGEN state controllers are using the same channel = 19 every where else)
PlaySnd MUGEN state controller,
2) then, in your Statedef -2, try to add this StopSnd state controller:

type = StopSnd
trigger1 = StateNo != [191,194]  ; it depends how many in-game intro states you make
channel = 19
ignorehitpause = 1
persistent = 1

** if you want to be super safe, then you can try to add the same StopSnd state controller in Statedef -1 and Statedef -3 too......
