Why do people stay with WinMUGEN?

Seriously though, why do people stay with WinMUGEN?


Are they afraid that MUGEN 1.0/1.1 has viruses? It is also virus free.


Are they aware that it is outdated? It is very very very outdated.


Do they think they have to pay for it? It is free to download and use just like Win MUGEN


Do they realize that most things are made for 1.0/1.1? And by most I mean like 99%.

Lol. I always thought the hesitation to be a matter of laziness.

My issue is that I can't switch because of screenpacks. It is too much work to rebuild all that. When 1.1 came out, Elecbyte said 1.0 and winmugen screenpacks won't work  

It's not backwards compatible.

Another reason for me is that the current mugen tools out there do not support 1.1, most of them only work with winmugen. 1 exception though, but, Not everyone likes Fighter Factory Ultimate, I prefer classic, and I use tools like stage viewer mcm, and MWC, mcm & MWC only works with winmugen.  

Also I heard around that the new mugens don't have this filter anymore that only the old one had, but I haven't checked into that so I am not sure.  

1.1 no run in my PC. I'm 400Gb de HD and 2 Gb en ram, but not run. I need new graphic tarjet.

there's your main answer most ppls still have old comps that suck no offence though XD
sadly it's true every where i go 1.0 seems to not work with older computers

my sis laptop had a windows 7 3 GB ram AMD vision though it did some things better it had a hard time playing high def stuff :Punlike my new laptop windows 8 6 GB ram I5 get the idea

I just use WinMugen even though i've downloaded Mugen 1.0 and deleted it again, mostly because WinMugen is just been there for so long and it's part of me on so many levels, don't get me wrong Mugen 1.0 is good but I don't really like the HD ness of it, i'm more of a Retro Gamer, not really into HD stuff much unless it's on my PS3.

Not only that but I am just too lazy to ever get around to converting all my Characters and Character Select Screen over to 1.0, Stages also.

I'll always have WinMugen even when the world ends you will find me on my Computer playing it still, I guess it's just Timeless for me, I can't really describe it, it's like saying: Oh your dad is old, upgrade with a new dad! It's just not the same as the original.

I only stopped using winmugen because of the crashes and the bugs

I spend something like Spartan, my Winmugen stopped working constantly (Crashes and bugs) and that bothered me.
Then I tried Mugen 1.0 to see how it was this, and although I should find a good screenpack to my liking and comfort, I stayed with this for quality.

I never once even played winMugen,sticked to 1.0 from the very beggining,then switched to 1.1 alpha,then 1.1 beta

Well! i like to use winmugen because the filter BILINEAR.

I DISLIKE PIXELLATED CHARS/STAGES AND LIFEBARS.

THE WAY OF THE GAME DOESN´T CRASH IS TO CONFIGURATE THE PLUGINS FOLDER.

IT´S VERY HARD TO GET DO A GAME HI-RES OR USE LOW-RES CHARS IN MUGEN 1.0 WITHOUT SEEMS A PIXELLATED CHARS WITH TWIESTED FORMS.

ZVITOR and friends are the only guys gets to put low-res chars in MUGEN 1.0 with a good aspect.

Its the same w/ windows 98. I bet some ppl up there still uses it because they like the retro look

Some WinMugen screenpacks work in Mugen 1.1
I used the old Guilty Gear WinMugen screenpack on my 1.1,and the only problem i encountered is that the menu music did not work in it.Everything else was fine and dandy

I liked 1.0. I also liked winmugen, but my time with Winmugen needed to come to an end. The deciding factor with me, was that there was more to make with 1.0. That was the direction MUGEN was heading in. New doors opened. They opened again with 1.1. Sure, there is some adjusting to do, but if that doesn't bother you, then the sky is the limit! I'm always adjusting MUGEN. It's always changing and growing. I'm glad for that. Some games hit a wall and then the community dies. I'm glad MUGEN seems to be staying strong.
