Thing is, this isn't Simul... And I'm doing constant life manipulation.
Players cannot hurt each other; but team P1 competes against team P2 to see who damages the pillar the most. If someone destroys the pillar, it sets the round timer to zero.
And when the timer hits zero, whomever did the most damage, wins (life of each player is set according to how much damage they did to the pillar).

Something like a Versus Bonus Stage. Very interesting, it further expands the experience and variability of the game.

Exactly! Since the DOS days, bonus stages have always been a full player. Now, we can have them be part of the stage, and have both teams compete or cooperate or whatever we want, to defeat it. Otherwise, the bonus stage can have a team lose, or have them both draw until the two player teams get kicked out.
This is a BIG gamechanger.
