Not the point - their spriting could be great and Dev would still behave the like he's king of the world. I don't care about the sprite - you act like the lack of spriting skill means you can say whatever you want to and that's OK. Its not.

And I think, even without MUGEN to prop yourself up, you would still be a dick.

You both have a point here, dev is somewhat of an ass (and sometimes i've seen him being really an ass) but he does have some points to be taken, but let me say what annoys the shit out of me, it's this type of shit:

It's already a mistake when you asked me to further explain why that looks like dogs#it. For any sane person, it's obvious why.

I'm so fucking tired of this, "do better" and "better than nothing" are not really valid responses, i don't need to make characters or some shit to be able to tell what's wrong, i do actually do know a thing or two so don't even try that shit on me, but my point is, don't just devaluate a person that's criticizing a painting just because they don't know how to paint properly, that is dumb.

Another thing is, if someone has to do the first character, try to make it with quality as much as possible, you want a good example?
Just pick dormammu, it's the first dormammu character that i know of and it's near perfect, would you actually enjoy a dormammu poorly made just because "it was the first one"? (And i mean REALLY enjoy, not just dump it into you personal collection of characters just because at least it exists)

yo, wemersonftj, so you want to make a sinister character, then you should listen to what i have to say (if you don't i don't really care, but i'd be disapointed by the fact that i fucking wrote this whole thing just for you and you didn't read it), as a coder, i don't really care if a character is sprited perfectly, that's kinda fine if the spriting is at least decent, but what you should do is planning the gameplay and trying to make your character as much bug-free as possible, a stable character is always better than a buggy and crappy character.
But better spriting is always a big plus for me and every one who wants a sinnister, as players and feedbackers can enjoy a fucking magnificent artwork instead of enjoing an only decent character.
Just don't take parts from others, that will turn some heads, ask if you can use something and credit authors who you used stuff from.
Also, don't just stick stuff all up ala frankenstein, at least try to make adjustments to the sprite youself, work harder, sprite everything if you think it will produce better results that just franken spriting and manually editing sprites to look decent (and if you think you are really commited to that), that is trully what fanworks should be, dedication of their free time to honour the character they love by making awesome fan-made creations.
