| I have decided to work on my own version of Link utilizing AxKing's sprites. Right now, my only complaints are the lack of fluidity when it comes to the animations, as well as limited animations, but I think I can make it work. If any of you have played around with my Sailor Moon characters, then you might know the gameplay format Link will have.
Things I would need (If Ax would be willing to sprite them): -Taunt animation based on Smash Bros. for the N64
-Forward dash in the same style as my Sailor Saturn -Make the animation used for standing LK more fluid (Add another frame, maybe?) -Placing the Hookshot onto the character sprite itself, including chain (If possible, that way I can code this move into the character).
I also have a beta available for testing, but it will not be a public release until I have some, if not all, of the major gameplay bugs resolved in some way.

| What a surprise. Unfortunately I am very bored with Link and I've moved onto other things so I really don't feel like adding anything sprite-wise. But you are in luck for there are lots of spriters here who may be willing to help. It may benefit you as well to learn a little spriting yourself. Check out the tutorials here and give it a go. HOWEVER, I'd be happy to teach you personally 1 on 1 through a freeware, no sign up program called TEAM VIEWER http://www.teamviewer.com/en/index.aspx If you agree to learn something I may help sprite maybe 1-2 animations but only for demonstration purposes. After that I will not be motivated to work any further than that. I'll do it cause I really do love to teach | |

| Well, one of those is really just one sprite.
I'm not much of an artist, and my laptop's trackpad may show you that. I'd still like to learn, but keep in mind that my laptop is a little on the fail side.

Don't be ridiculous, I've practically done everything for you, you don't need to know how to draw anything I'll teach you how to make something new from something old, it'll be absolutely painless Well then it is up to you. | Forward Dash and s.LK issues are done.
I have a different taunt right now as a placeholder.
More progress to come. | |

| Great, here are some other links that may help you out. - Spoiler:

- Quick tip that may help the editing process...
Shades are the colors that go from lightest to darkest /// or /// darkest to lightest in reverse order. You can have a few or many, but they are all different but yet the same are a part of the same group of colors when arranged together.
[You must be registered and logged in to see this image.] https://i.imgur.com/a3k25c0.png
It is important to keep the color shades, even black and white shades, in the proper order. Keeping the colors in order creates the illusion that something is farther or closer, but mixing up that order confuses the eye and makes anything look odd?
Notice how having only one color out of order can obscure the whole image.
Sometimes you can get away with it but at other times it needs to be fixed. Generally though always try to get them right.
Spiderman and Cyclops are among the hardest to shade. You may need to try more than once to get it right.

When sprite editing, you sometimes have to erase stuff like hands out of the legs and remake the leg part areas by hand by re-constructing it.
It takes a bit of practice, try imagining what it looks like underneath by the parts around the area or compared to a different frame that is clean.

Once you get used to it, it becomes really easy and eventually it will only take a minute to do. You may also develop scratch editing skills as well.
It doesn't have to be perfect and if you'll notice Ghostrider had his details remade, originally his base was in KoF style which does not look like MvC style art at all!!! But with this technique, he was turned into MvC style art.

He lost some details but he got new ones instead!
Remember don't be afraid to try something new, also with that program "MOSWorskop", remember there is a bug in saving in .png format with a palette, so instead try to save as .pcx format. Also try copying the images before saving just in case it crashes again. Gimp is a good tool to, if you are comfortable with that, then use it to. Sometimes using a combination of tools can yield greater results. Anyway, I expect to see great things from you, good luck Kaepora Gaebora

| He's doing some great stuff with this one. I saw some smart palette designs of Link, here's one I noticed. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]Personally I saw this as a waste of time and tedious work for such a small feature to be implemented generally in any mugen character but I know a lot of mugen gamers out there like variety features and small touches of detail like this so I am glad someone is taking up this challenging task for the smart palette for fans out there. I am sure it'll be lovely to see in action. I just hope it doesn't consume too much of the editor's free time. It looks like a long hard task to me? I can't imagine going back to every sprite and making color separations Anyway good luck to you sir and looking forward to seeing those new animations in action. (hopefully more to!)

| Hit a snag, and it came with trying to code the Hookshot. Unfortunately I have yet to find a solution, and my free time is now gone thanks to finals week coming. I don't know when I'll be able to resume working on this project. | |

Were you going to do more than just a hookshot? You could move onto something else and leave the hookshot issue for the last step to completing the wip. Why not do a bomb toss or add a fairy striker? I assumed you were going to do much more with this wip. As soon as you come back to this, please put in some time to do more than just a smart palette/hookshot upgrade. When someone decides to take up something like this I always expect greater.

| I had plans for the bombs, but I then became indecisive and left them out. I was trying to not overload him with moves just because I have a multitude of sprites. | |

| Fair enough. You know I think you should ditch the bobble wand move, now that I look at it again, it looks a tad over powered? I also recommend elsewhere that close rang attacks be made. Maybe one punch move and one kick move and use it for all the variations of their attack groups. Here's an animation idea created by some guy named Saturn. [You must be registered and logged in to see this image.]A close range punch could be made in the same manner. It would be a small alteration but make a significant difference I believe in the overall gameplay. The sword could also be upgraded to something a little more broader to. Well anyway that's just something to think about. good luck on your exams then | |
