Need help with screen select

Not a programmer or coder so i apologize in advance if the question is going to be stupid. Whatever i have figured out so far is simply through trial and error. I downloaded a screenpack which uses the sprite group and number 9000,2. Not every character has that particular group and number.

How do i add a new group and number sprite to a character.

I have a Fighter Factory Ultimate 2.6

Screenpack is Marvel Universe VS DC Universe by Alejndro for MUGEN

I run these on a Mac using Crossover.

Any help would be much appreciated.

add a new sprite and set it new group number and image number

if the sprite already exists

edit the group and number in the sprite fields of the sprite you want to change

Adding a new sprite for some reason makes the fighting sprites colors all wonky

Ive tried both PNG and PCX. These are images from portrait packs. If i replace a image its not a problem. Only if i add a new sprite does this problem arise.
