Bookworm and class nerd Peter Parker attends an exhibition in radioactivity. He gets bit by a radioactive spider and is blessed with the proportionate strength and speed of a spider
he tries to profit from his ability by going on TV as Spider-Man. However, when he refuses to assist the police in apprehending a fleeing thief. That thief goes on to break into the Parker's home and killing Peter's surrogate father Uncle Ben.
He learns that with great power comes great responsibility.

Peter is mourning Uncle Ben' death, and he and Aunt May are struggling financially without Uncle Ben's income.
Peter attempts again to make money in show-business. A scathing editorial by newspaper publisher J. Jonah Jameson quickly turns public opinion against Spider-Man and makes it unfeasible for Spider-Man to make money in show-business
Jameson's son, John Jameson is launched in a rocket capsule that quickly starts flying out of control.

Spider-Man leaping from the wing of a fighter plane onto a speeding space capsule.
Spider-Man manually replaces a missing electrical component allowing John Jameson to eject the capsule's parachute and float both he and Spider-Man to safety. However, another scathing Daily Bugle editorial accusing Spider-Man of personally sabotaging the capsule turns public opinion against him once again.

Spider-Man breaks into the Fantastic Four's private headquarters in an attempt to join the illustrious adventuring team. After eluding the building's defense systems and the Fantastic Four's attempt to apprehend him, Spider-Man is disappointed to learn that the Fantastic Four is strictly non-profit and not interesting in having an accused outlaw on the team.
Later, the Chameleon frames Spider-Man for the theft of some missile defense plans. Spider-Man commandeers a speedboat and pursues the Chameleon's helicopter out into New York harbor preventing the Chameleon from handing over the defense plans to the Soviets. With the Chameleon apprehended, Spider-Man turns him over to the police to clear his name.

Peter Parker stumbles upon the idea of using his Spider-Man identity to get photo shots that no other photographer can dream of. He stalks the Vulture in order to get some good shots only to be ambushed by the villain. The Vulture drops Spider-Man into a water tower and leaves him for dead. Spider-Man escapes and Peter sells some shots of the Vulture to Jonah for the first time. Later, the Vulture commits a brazen jewel theft and escapes through the sewers and subways beneath the streets. Spider-Man catches up to the Vulture and uses an "anti-magnetic inverter" to render the Vulture's magnetic anti-gravity harness useless. Defeated, the Vulture goes to prison while Peter sells additional photographs to the Daily Bugle.

Peter Parkers stumbles upon an alien plot to bug leading scientists and military figures by putting miniature cameras and microphones in their electronic devices. Using "The Tinkerer Repair Shop" as a front for their illicit activities, and Tinkerer and his alien cohorts spy on the world. Spider-Man stumbles upon their plot and defeats the aliens - driving them off in their spaceship and destroying their shop in the process. In one of the last scenes, Spider-Man holds a rubber mask that he yanked off the Tinkerer.

Atomic researcher Otto Octavious develops a set of mechanical arms for use in work safely with volatile chemicals and radioactive materials. An explosion in his lab fuses the mechanical arms to his body, grants him mental control of his extra arms, and unhinges his sanity. Deciding his intellect and abilities makes him the supreme human being on Earth, he takes the lab's medical staff hostage in order to continue his work. Spider-Man arrives on scene (trying to get pictures of the injured scientist Dr. Octopus), but he is easily defeated and humiliated by Dr. Octopus.

Not long after, Dr. Octopus takes over the atomic research lab and re-designs the lab to his specification. After seeing a demonstration and getting a pep talk from the Human Torch, Peter Parker once again heads out to face and defeat Dr. Octopus.

"Nothing Can Stop... The Sandman!"


While patrolling the city, Spider-Man witnesses a man fleeing from the police. Spider-Man drops down to confront the man only to find himself face-to-face with the Sandman! Spider-Man is unsuccessful in his attempts to apprehend the Sandman and is forced to flee when his mask is ripped during the battle.

Peter faces the Sandman once the next day when the Sandman slips into Peter's high school while fleeing the police. Once the Sandman takes a classroom full of children hostage, Spider-Man arrives and eventually defeats the Sandman by sucking up his sandy form in an industrial vacuum cleaner   . Spider-Man then fakes some photos of him fighting the Sandman by snapping pictures of him shadow-boxing with bits of sand thrown in the air   .
