I don't feel comfortable with this site tracking where I live

If I was still in Las Vegas, I wouldn't really care. But my family went into poverty forcing us to live in a small town in the poorest part of the neighbor hood in a totally different region than the West of America (We don't even have Mcdonalds here and the Dominos in the poor part of town is nasty and is really, really, really small.). I don't feel happy where I live and I do not want people to know where I live now as it's embarrasing. I know our IPs aren't 100% accurate but it's a good spot to have ideas to where my house is. Is there a way to take it down or remove myself from it?

why is this topic made?

you made it sound like there is some way where anyone can see where other people are from on our forum. that is not the case.

all internet forums, regardless of mugen or not, do an ip tracking thing, but only viewable by moderators and admin. this is done in case someone is causing drama or a ruckus of some sort.

we are no different.

When you go to the Who is Online page, there is a map that pinpoints where your IP is at. I guess it's upon visiting that part of MMV, or something but I had my pin (marked blue) along with the green guys as guests. I could almost locate where these guests live along with myself. I don't mean any harm, I am just anxious when it comes to my IP's location being pinpointed or released to the public.

don´t worry about your life condition now,maybe it can to improve someday or you must to keep calm and trust in God. in these actual days is very hard to have a ceiling above the head and to eat decently. don´t stay depressed or shy or ashamed.

i am sure your parents are decent people chosen the best way to live. support them and believe in better days!

Also now that I am in a small town living in a home that looks like it's abandoned outside and inside, it's much easier to find me. Try finding me out of a few thousand people rather than over a million in a much larger area. Yeah, having my IP located is much more unsafe than being in a city.

for the record, the map was set to be administrator only view. apparently sometime after it was set and your report, free forum (server host) changed something up.

in fact, the check mark for only administrators to see was still checked, but apparently whatever the server hosts did, disqualified that. so yesterday i turned off the map altogether.
