I am planning on my first character releases very soon. I was just wondering if anyone could recommend to me how to make the sample videos for posting.

I use Fraps.
And have Bandicam and CamStudio as the backup if Fraps fails (yet rarely happens to me).

Also for making a good .gif file you can try GifCam.
