| No. He's not good. Not like a PAID comic artist should be. Artists have to take anatomy classes to get good. You can tell he never did, and if he did, he slept in them. These pages can explain better than I can, what his common (and basic) problems are. http://www.progressiveboink.com/2012/4/21/2960508/worst-rob-liefeld-drawings Can't. Draw. Feet. The basic foot is too much for him. Spines are another problem. Fingers too. Unrealistic muscles and posing. He can't do proportions and physics on anything. He's just bad all around. His bad art will actually distract you away from a story. If I can't appreciate the art and the story, why am I reading this? How is she standing? On her tip-toes? Why are we outlining where her crotch is? Is she Vulcan Neck Pinching her hip? Why so many DEEP muscle lines? In the 2nd photo, the swimsuit one, boobs don't look like that under fabric. The fabric hangs over them like in the first photo, it's not vacuum-sealed to form perfectly around each breast, falling into the crevasse between them. Unfortunately, LOTS of comic artists do that. They know it's wrong, but Hey! Boobs, right? Ugh. But I better stop there. I can go on ALL DAY about how terrible comic artists are at drawing women. And this Cap! Notice how he hid the spine and fingers. Way too much muscle. I don't care if he IS a hero. All those body supplements must have shrank Cap's crotch too! What he'd look like from above It's insulting that he can turn out this kind of shoddy work, then turn to us with his hand stretched out, looking to be paid.

| All of the above unfortunately - agreed. For me it always bothered me that he can't (?) do backgrounds. Like most pages he draws seem to do avoid backgrounds altogether and just use colours or lines based on the mood of the scene.
This is true of all his art posted here (and likely the ones others post, too) except the Batman one. Which doesn't look like his background at all.
To be honest, I think he COULD be a great artist; but he just seems to not be interested in growing his craft or is too lazy to be bothered. If he's not formally educated that could be fine - Alan Davis (one of my favs) is entirely self taught and I could look at his art for days.
If you want to seem him at his best, pick up the Hawk and Dove mini-series where Dawn Granger (female Dove) is introduced. With a good inker and editor to guide (or control!) him he can likely be pushed to focus and take his time.
But yeah, he should always be reminded of that Captain America picture - it is a shame someone paid him for that; it just enabled him. | |

| The real scoop about Rob being on the hate wagon was started back in the 90's by Marvel and DC because he and a few buds dared to try to break out of there box. Started a long campaign to tear him down. That's all it is. Every artist has those Cap America type drawings we wish we could take back. Thing is, his characters have lasted anyway like Cable Deadpool, Domino etc... In fact I think after the Deadpool movie his popularity is going to grow because he makes off the wall super-heroes that are more fun than serious. He still gets more work than most popular artist simply because he is a fun artist and can push books, even on a dead series. He has proven that for decades now. | |

| I have most of podcast about him as well as interviews of him explanining making Image and DC/Marvel attacks while they hired him back from image to push Marvel books, which we know now as the Reborn series. Also i'll try to dig up the interview with him saying his dislike of how FOX portrayed Colossus and Rob forcing FOX to make Colossus the cool char we know him as in the comics for Deadpool movie. | |
