making small port from sprites?

By The Way this Is What I Mean:


This Kind Of Small Port...

Well I know one way to make this type of small portraits, only select the sprite that you want like small portrait and save in pcx or png, edit the image with one program like photoshop, cut only of you need of the sprite and don't forget the proportions of the small portrait and tada you have your small portrait like you want.
