Do you mind people suggesting you to change your MUGEN idea(s)?

- Yes, I mind it very much!
- No, I don't mind it at all!
- Well, it depends on the suggested MUGEN idea(s) and by who
- I don't care much about people's suggestion....I just keep my own MUGEN idea(s) all the way....

I am asking and making a poll because, I wonder how people's thoughts are distributed in this matter? Question

For an example:
- MUGEN author Peter made and released a MUGEN character that has a gun move that only works on ground,
and some other MUGEN fans suggested to Peter that, "hey Peter, I think that gun move should also work in air,
it is because its anti-air moves are weak. riiiggghhht

Or you can make a diagonal gun version to cope with jump-in
enemies."

So if you were Peter, then would you feel offended at all? It was your original MUGEN idea not to make the gun move work in the air in the first place because you felt it doesn't fit. Would you listen and change and re-do something that wasn't in your original MUGEN plan?

Please note that it is not limited to MUGEN characters; it can be any MUGEN creations/makings. Wink

Sometimes when I tried out a MUGEN release I might have been trying to do similar suggestion(s). In fact I don't know about my target MUGEN creator's/author's original MUGEN plan so I am afraid I have been offending some carelessly. This is all about personal preferences thing which has nothing to do with "good" or "bad', just some "style" and "taste" thing in MUGEN. So, if I see your reply saying, "- Yes, I mind it very much!" then next time in your MUGEN release I know you don't like me suggesting MUGEN idea(s) to you.

Likewise, some people do similar suggestion(s) to my own MUGEN works. I myself mind it sometimes, and if the person who suggests is not my MUGEN foe/enemy and his/her/its suggested MUGEN idea is inspiring Idea

and fits my MUGEN style and taste, then I can listen and do the change according to the suggestion.
Hence, my poll answer is: "- Well, it depends on the suggested MUGEN idea(s) and by who"

suggesting heck now. people are free to say whatever along those lines. however if they make a thing about their idea not being implemented, that can be annoying

Well a suggestion is always a suggestion, so i will always hear it, but not always agreeing with it, if i do not agree with the suggestion i can always denie it and tell why, me and the person who gave the suggestion might start a discussion (but a nice discussion, like giving decent arguments and get to an agreedment, not calling M********** and stuff to the other guy, if it gets to that point i'll just quit it)

So my choice goes for: "Well, it depends on the suggested MUGEN idea(s) and by who" but i don't care who gives it because i don't have enemies.

It kinda depends for me... if someone makes an interesting suggestion, or suggests a tweak, or even makes a cool idea, I'll consider it. If someone is saying "X thing you did is dumb, you should do this instead", or "you made Y thing like this. WHY?", it gets annoying. I guess because some don't quite understand why I intentionally made things a certain way, they think I made an oversight or mistake. I don't mind explaining, but if someone is being rude or treating me like I don't know what I'm doing, it frustrates me. To me there's a fine line between simply suggesting or critiquing, and being rude and thinking you automatically know better than the creator.

To me, the "who" matters. If the "who" is someone who has been e-haunting me all the time then I probably get so mad that even the advise given is reasonable...........

Yes, I cannot agree more with you on this one! yes

If I give suggestions I always try to give something that "suits" the char or has something to do with the source game the char comes from. If I don´t know anything from the char I "investigate", look for youtube vids from the source game or read stuff in the net.

Sometimes I just have an IMO good idea for the char, but, like I said, it has to "fit" in one way or the other the playstyle or overall theme the char has...

Oh, btw... If somebody doesn´t include suggestions I made (even if they are IMO nice & the char would benefit from them) I don´t get angry or annoyed.
They are just suggestions, nothing more and nothing less.

I choose the forth option: I don't care much about people's suggestion....I just keep my own MUGEN idea(s) all the way.... but if people want their own idea, they can use my creation to implement their idea into my character.

I choose the Third option, Sometimes it was a great idea and sometimes it is not, So i depends on the suggestion if I'll consider it, Noted or Not. Smile
