| Throwing this out there first because it was a topic of debate earlier. This is not to change if a creator can get nominated for creator of the year because of 1 creation. When I did all this at CVG United, I used the limiting factor of release 2 characters then as well. That and the scoring through use of polls and replies are the carry-overs from then.
This is about the use of preliminary awards. I glanced at the Mugen Fighters Guild awards area recently and they reminded me don't really need to do annual nominations for a yearly award if have a preliminary system in place. They have monthly awards, in our case we have a quarterly system.
When doing yearly awards before, never had a preliminary system in place, so it was my mistake to not think of how could use it sooner for a different nomination process concerning yearly awards. My bad for not thinking of it sooner. As stated in the first paragraph, I've done this kind of thing for years, so was stuck in that system without taking into account new implementations.
So now proposing: Use the quarterly awards towards developing nominees for the yearly awards
Added a poll to take that into account. Here is a little more info on the options
1) Take the new proposal into account now 2) Merge the new proposal with things already nominated 3) Use the new proposal next year only 4) Don't like the proposal
Please let me know through feedback in reply and voting in the poll.
Thank you. | |

| I gave my vote to the 2) option. It is because the current on-going ones are hard to change for all right? I remember the MFG awards also got some change/update from time to time. Well, to me, any number of a MUGEN creator's/author's work doesn't matter, as long as the said creation/conversion are being liked by the majority of the vote givers. It is because some times a particular one (1) MUGEN creation/conversion can kind of make a "forever" type of awards -- i.e. Dragon Claw by Reuben Kee. And, some vote givers give votes by taste and/or quality, and not concerning of quantity. So, perhaps there can be a MUGEN awards for something like "the most number of MUGEN release in a month/week", just to try to separate the difference in the debate. Oh if it is possible, then will you consider to make a MMV web page that is used to solely show the quarterly made yearly MUGEN awards? I mean something that looks like the current MMV Downloads section http://mugenmultiverse.webstarts.com/index.html I know it can produce more web site work for you since you are busy with so much things.........well, never mind what I just say........ | |

Its silly for Verz and Lognair not to be up for creator of the year especially since stages should be considered as well. To me quality > quantity. Another award for creators that release a lot of stuff seems appropriate.

| How about some more subtle "classifications"?
Something like:
- "the most original MUGEN character release this 3rd quarter" - "the most liked MUGEN stage release this year" - "the most beautiful MUGEN motif/screen release this month" - "the most eyeballs-catching palettes this week" - "the most code-wise advanced MUGEN character and stage this 1st quarter" - "the most sprite-wise splendid MUGEN character and stage this 1st quarter" - "the most sound-wise interesting MUGEN character and stage this 1st quarter" - "the most productive MUGEN creator/author this year" - "the most awesome MUGEN team work of all times" - "the most looked-forward MUGEN WIP this 4th quarter" - "the most funny joke MUGEN character and stage of all times" - "the most fandom-wise MUGEN creator/author this year" ........................................

| @ metamutant...well, like i said before, i've been doing it like that for yrs when it comes to creator of the yr and i am not gonna change now. i never saw it as a released best char award, leave that for the actual award for that. with creator of yr, i have always seen it through the yrs as a compilation of what someone did over a yr period. plus, again through the yrs i've done this, wanted to put in a limiting factor and more than 1 char release has always done that.
@ borewood...while i thank you for the feedback in general, when it comes to this award stuff, want to try and limit it like i've been doing. also, you don't like this? http://mugenmultiverse.fanbb.net/t3450-mmv-awards-hall-of-fame
anyway...
hoping for more feedback in the topic on the policy i brought up, which is use the quarterly awards more towards yearly nominations. replies in the topic and votes in the poll, or both are very welcome.

| >> a quarterly system >> yearly awards A year consists of four (4) quarters right? So it should be added up to four (4) MUGEN creations/conversions per a same nominated MUGEN creator/author? Well, I still consider 2) Merge the new proposal with things already nominated the best do-able change to make. | |

| @ mistah jorge...don't worry about the poll. just post about it in the topic as it is not about counting up a poll vote only.
but for more info, when i say take from quarterly awards, i don't mean just the winners.
i mean take any of the candidates that made traction in their quarterly awards. for example, batman 52 almost won the period that jubilee actually did. 4 things were really competing in the winter awards. dr. doom by infinite did pretty good against taskmaster. and that is just off the top of my head. there may be more, like logansam's man of steel superman if i recall.
