Fight Club 2 coming

It's time to flex those muscles and get ready for another round, because the Fight Club is back open for business. Yes, after an offhand comment at last year's New York Comic-Con, Chuck Palahniuk is making good with Fight Club 2, a new 10-issue series at Dark Horse Comics with artist Cameron Stewart.

The series will begin in May 2015 and was announced just prior to this year's Comic-Con International: San Diego by USAToday. The new story takes place ten years after the first book, with the protagonist married to Marla Singer, with whom they share a child called simply "Junior." But it's not all looking forward.

"Tyler is something that maybe has been around for centuries and is not just this aberration that's popped into his mind," Palahniuk told Brian Truitt. The story will explore the origins of Tyler Durden, who it seemed was just a deep-seeded aspect of the protagonist's personality.

While there will be parallels to the original story, Fight Club 2 looks to view the plight of fatherhood from the point-of-view of the father, while also commenting on the cultural impact of the first, says the artist.

"It's as much a meta-fictional comment on the cultural response to Fight Club as it is a sequel," Stewart said.

And yes, the series will see the narrator going back to the titular Fight Club, but it won't go too well, as that has changed significantly over the years as well.

strange..... its not really one those movies one makes sequels to its more of one that makes a point

but its not going to be a movie. the sequel will exist in comic book form.
