@Erroratu: The guild does not set editing policy for the entire internet. Those kind of things are set by individual forum communities.

We actually have a topic (a WIP, some things listed, some not) addressing editing of comic characters. While does not list everything, it does provide a good framework for what we'd prefer.

Regarding Mandarin, I will be editing that post now to remove the hotlinked Buyog image. Probably will remove the link too. While do not know what Buyog trying to accomplish by putting whatever online like he did, I'd prefer to not navigate the minefield that can come up...especially since he is a friend and doing a few favors for us regarding consideration for his characters in full game projects.

the reason nova hasn't been updated from bdc is due to he is part of the shiar invasion project and the only release of him was a beta before final release and project release. like Arkady and Dev said "it is not ok to redo a creators works without permission from them REGARDLESS IF YOU CREDIT THEM IN THE README OR NOT! i know we are not hosting these characters here but like mentioned earlier and in many other posts : GET PERMISSION FIRST,REGARDLESS WHAT SOMEONE ELSE TELLS YOU WHATS ALL RIGHT AND ACCEPTABLE OR NOT UNLESS CREATOR SAYS ITS COOL ITS A !!!NO NO!!!

yes i know all caps are irritating but i and others are tired of trying to beat this common sense and logic into many peoples heads so plain and simple ---no author ok,no do it!

erroratu please quit informing members that it is ok to "sample" unopened source works,its going to cause alot of drama with other sites and creators.thanks

From what I understand regarding Nova, bdc has quoted many times about his work being open source before.

but yeah iron i would run it by bdc just to be on the safe side and let him test it out and see if he likes it...ya know to stop any drama from jumping off cuz i feel this could turn into one of those "THOSE MMV BASTARDS EDITED MY CHARACTER WITHOUT MY PERMISION AND HOSTING IT ON THEIR SITE!!!" and we dont want that kinda attention...he might just say no just because you're affiliated here...jus sayin

I know Bdc he gave me some years ago the permission to edit Quasar and help aa250 with a couple of problems that he had with some chars. Because I know you're right and I know how much big this can turn i'll delete for now Nova for the first post. So please, let's end this discussion and come back to the start of this, post here the char that you think needs an improvement.

Erroratu, I'll say it again, there are not specific rules that govern the entire internet. That kind of thing handled at each particular forum.

Dev, you want to enforce whatever standards you believe in on a community, then go ahead and create your own forum and do it there. You are not staff here, or admin, hence you will not be enforcing anything here.
