| it seems like a lot of work for nothing and some of us are struggling with egos and pride as it is. doesn't sound like a good idea. | |

| I say go for it A mothly contest sounds like a good idea, and we let people nominate and then vote for their favorite character. We will need someone with photoshop to make awards though | |

Ax and Arch, so I think you both never went to a MFG awards. At MFG, and I can say specifically about the Stage Contest, things are very different. Its not an ego fight, not a praise the creator fest, its a really technical showdown. We (I was one of the Judges) judged every entry with the same focus, we doesn't cares if the creator " (but I) spent too much time on it" (a common excuse), if its a newbie - everyone is the same. But, if I can be honest, I don't think it would work here (or the way it works at MFG) because of the feedbacks and people here gets offended pretty easily. For example, take a look at the results and how the feedback was given http://mugenguild.com/forum/msg.1806278 I believe many people here would shit bricks, If I can be honest. So, if you guys wants to host a REAL contests, were we will analyzis every single part of the creator and big names or fan favotires has no advantage and need a judge, you can count on me on that. Otherwise, it would be a waste of time.

| Considering the talk here, figured an official statement was needed.
There are two things that need to happen for this to become a reality:
1) A 3rd party takes the reins on all organization. MMV has enough on its plate to add something more. However, if said 3rd party were to step up, we won't get in your way because MMV is about having fun, and for hypothetical 3rd party, maybe running something like that would be fun for them. If it were to happen, they'll need to understand that odds are, comic creations will probably get the brunt of the popularity due to that kind of a major focus for our community. If it were to happen, the most MMV will be involved is maybe giving a forum sub section and an HTML block on the front page 2) Monthly is far too often. At most, should be quarterly ala seasonal (for example Dec, Jan, Feb would be Winter).
