Help Identify the Problem with a Character's SFF file Empty
PostSubject: Help Identify the Problem with a Character's SFF file   Help Identify the Problem with a Character's SFF file EmptyDecember 17th 2023, 2:28 pm

Greetings,

I have been desperately searching for a Laura Matsuda character for my Mugen roster. I downloaded the one made by Mr. I and Violin Ken because it was the only complete one that I could find.

I opened the def file in Fighter Factory to see if it had any issues. Nearly all of the issues had to do with the character's sprites. Several sprites had the same index and group numbers, so I changed index numbers of some the sprites to resolve the issue.

Fighter Factory now says that the character has no issues, but when I select her for a fight, she either fails to load and crashes the, or she enters the fight but some of her attacks cause a block of static to appear.

After the fight, when I try to select the stage for another fight, the names of the stages have been replaced by static blocks that look somewhat similar to those that appeared in the fight. I am unsure if these two problems are related or not.

Are the issues the result my changing of the sprite's index numbers or is something causing this problem to occur. I joined this forum to see if someone could help me identify the problem.

I have no experience with coding or sprite work, so I have no idea of where to even begin looking. Should I just redownload the character to undo the changes that I made or is it possible for me to fix the character without having to redownload her.

Thank you for your time.
