All of that only applies on Youtube platform and my edited work is already in Derivative form...

bro, no. that applies everywhere. you cannot sell copywritten work that you don't own the copywrite to.

OK so not to piss any one off

but any thing from a company that you do not own the copy right licence for can not be sold that is characters and stages if it contains a licence character or property with in it it is completely not legal
To sell and at any time
if one of those company's want they can shut us down for selling their property s and sue for copyright infringement

You can how ever sell your own custom original characters and stages/games that you have made as long as it has no copy right character s in it at all

The mugen engine is open sourced but the characters from the different company 's are not we are allowed to edit and distribute freely as long as there is no profit gaind in doing so from those company's characters or assets

Now you can accept donations for what you have done
If people want to donate to help you out they can but they should not be required nor should anything be walled off by a pay wall and they are donating to you not them paying for a character because that is illegait
it still needs to be distributed for free

Edits of Ryu, Scorpion, etc I don’t think we should be paying for… don’t care how much time you put into the code…. But if you have a PayPal available and we enjoy your contributions, cool.. let us decide if we donate to it or not….. this is just a hobby…. Most the things in Mugen originate from other legal releases already

I do like demun’s concept of making certain characters only downloadable if you have a certain amount of posts though.. it eliminates the lurkers

@demunlawin Im very grateful for sharing your edits, but I recommend to cease and desist of asking $$$ for this.
Its very different from making a commision for a full sprited, drawed, coded char. Besides all this char have copyrigth and you trying to get profit of them, using the work and talent of other creators. Its illegal and breaks with the spirit of this forum.

You have edits that ppl are interested in but they lose interest when you mask it by saying “I’m not charging for the character, just my coding skills.”

I remember ppl wanted the MK edits you did but you can’t get them. I do remember getting an inbox from you that they’re on pattern. I thought about donating but then I saw chuchoryu made newer sprites so I passed.

I do like the “x amount of posts and you can download” VIP thing you have. It reduces the lurkers from getting their hands on it and forces more group discussion.

Me personally, I’m not even interested in the samurai showdown edits but you have to have 6000 posts or monetary donation to get it? Ppl lose interest when you have to go through loops and hurdles to get edits. It’s basically like they have no choice but to pay if they want it because how many members here have 6K posts? You don’t even have 6K posts   .. or maybe I misinterpreted the “6000 activity post” thing. If I did, I apologize!

Just my opinion.. don’t take offense to it
