I use zsnes and snes9x for ripping, never used vsnes before, perhaps I can try it out with your cool tutorial thank you very much!

hi there borewood2013. yeah when you trying to rip a background from a snes rom and all the sudden you end up getting that Black background transparent where its can be freaking annoying as heck. and you have to use photoshop or gimp to trace or draw out the layer around the black border around the sprite background. How ever with Vsnes tool you can save you tons of hard work by turning that annoying black transparent and use vsnes to turn into ANY color into a pink,green or light blue transparent for your mugen stages project . I think this tool is super useful if your mugen stages project.
